J. Franklin Long is a 1977 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law. He has advocated for injured and damaged victims for 27 years. He is admitted to practice law in West Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. J. Franklin Long is a past president of the West Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the Mountain State Bar Association. For more than 25 years, these two Bar Associations have produced and provided high quality Continuing Legal Education seminars designed to train lawyers to effectively advocate for injured victims. J. Franklin Long is the only person that has been president of both of these Bar Associations. He has lectured to lawyers for Continuing Legal Education Seminars in more than 10 states, including the Bahamas, Puerto Rico and Canada. J. Franklin presently serves on the Board of Governors for the West Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He actively fights to protect the legal rights of his clients, after injury or death. J. Franklin Long has provided college scholarships for more than 50 high school seniors. Additionally, he has set up scholarship endowments at West Virginia University College of Law and Bluefield State College and provides a Freshman Scholarship at Southwest Virginia Community College. J. Franklin Long is a member of the United Methodist Church Foundation, the West Virginia University Foundation and the Bluefield State College Foundation. J. Franklin Long represents people. He does not represent insurance companies and corporations. J. Franklin Long has an efficient, effective and competent support staff. He uses the team approach.
